Back to work
Dear all
Stayed home on my last off day due to heavy rain. Only managed to cut my hair sometime at night. My off day wasted just like that.
Was back to afternoon shift yesterday, busy following up on paperworks the whole day. Received a guest complaint near to the end of the shift, it happens. After work, went for supper at Bencoolen street. Nice place to sit around coz of the nice music. Food was good also.
Hope today will be a better day at work. Gonna stop spending money now, my finances running low.

Off day after a long week
Dear all
Very busy weekend due to COMEX. The famous artiste and his entourage had left yesterday so nothing much to do but just to deal with the high number of arrivals. My family stayed over the weekend using my 5 years complimentary stay. Damn havoc my mum, I'm like her personal assistant during her stay. And my friends from room service sent up tons of fruits. End of the day, I was crazily eating bananas like monkeys. Confirmed will have no constipation.
Something funny happened on Sunday. A Prince from Brunei was arriving at the hotel and we were waiting to welcome him at the driveway. When the embassy car arrived, my 2 colleagues mistook the prince's PA as himself. Thank goodness I recognised the prince and salvaged the situation by pointing out to them in time. Phew, can't blame them also. The PA dressed smarter than the prince, haha.
After work, slept at locker.....again. It's quite comfortable though, trust me. Intended to sleep for an hour and then head home. Instead I slept from 0130 hrs to ...............0600hrs. Haha, I can start the next shift already liao.
Gonna cut my hair today and then take my camera out and play with it.

Promotion
Dear all
Started work early today at 12 noon as a colleague's on MC. When I stepped in to the workplace, Frankie was smiling excited when he saw me. Can't blame him, he has been working for 13 hours from 11 pm the previous day. Work today was busy, with the shortage of seniors and cashiers at the desk and also the movement of the famous artiste currently in house. Had to chase many fans out of the hotel. Another problem was the traffic and parking situation around the vicinity of the hotel due to COMEX. And lastly, the DPM Professor S.Jayakumar came to attend to a dinner function. All of us was waiting for his arrival at the driveway and security was on full standby. Unexpectedly, he arrived via the rear entrance. Very the low-profile, hehe.
My boss called me to her office sometime in the evening conveying the news of my promotion. Her word of advice, to raise my standard higher. She must be hinting that I've slacked these few weeks. Anyway time to pull my socks up. Yippee.

What a day
Dear all
Work was busy, famous artiste checked-in today. Not many fans turned up though. Wonder if his popularity is dropping. On another matter, General Manager supported me in a decision which I made. I'm so touched. Started work today at 0700hrs, completed at 2015hrs. Damn exhausted. Intended to sleep at the locker for like half an hour but woke up 2 hours later. Late big time.
Was supposed to meet up with this guy for a freelance photographer position. It's on part-time basis and on flexible timings. Initially planned on meeting up at 2115hrs but since I'm very late, I thought, there goes my chance. However, I checked my phone and was delighted to received an SMS from him saying that he will be late also. Haha, luck is on me. Made my way to Coffee Bean at Boat Quay, which was the planned meeting point however he called to direct me to his office nearby. His office turned up to be a studio with full set-up. I'm impressed. Had a casual chat for like an hour. At the end of it, he offered me a trial for an upcoming wedding shoot eventhough he knew of my limited experience. What can I say, I grabbed the offer on the spot.
The only setback was my irregular shifts and my lack of equipments. Well, I'll cross the bridge when I come to it.
Heres my wishlist if I intended to proceed further;
1 - Lens 18-70mm f/3.5-4.6
2 - Lens 50mm f/1.8
3 - Flash SB 600
4 - Back-up hard drive
5 - Batteries
6 - Others
Not to worry, there's the option of renting the items if I have to.

Off day
Dear all
Finally finished my midnite shifts, 5 nights in total. Off day today but back to morning shift tomorow. Every night, the system need to shut down for the night auditing. Here's a quick summary of my midnite stretch.
1st night, TG, Katie and me. Nice, not busy. System normal.
2nd night, TG, Yenni and me. Very busy. System error, came back late at 0640hrs. Many departures in the morning.
3rd night, TG, Yenni and me. Busy. System error again, came back at 0530hrs.
4th night, TG, Yenni and me. Extremely, super, damn busy. As expected, system error. Came back at 0515hrs. In addition, 3 groups depart at the same time in the morning, cleared 73 departures in 2 hours. Now I'm still wondering how I survive that ordeal.
5th night, Frankie, Yenni, Winston and me. Smooth night. A nice ending to my round of midnight.
My team for the 2nd to 4th night. Our combination brings many disasters.

Lazy me
Dear all
Was OFF yesterday. How did I spend my day off, sleep mostly. Kind of wasted my day by sleeping through it. On midnight shift today as an AM. Haven't done AM shift for a long time. Hope I can still remember the duties.
Nikon and Canon cameras announced new models to their digital SLR cameras. New models coming out, prices of current camera models will drop. Yay, can get another camera hopefully soon. Or at least another lens and new flash. Or more lens and new tripod. Argh, the list goes on and on.
And to Sadiq, what are you waiting for. As I mentioned, camera prices dropping so grab yours now.

Happy National Day
Dear all
National Day, arrivals about 250, mostly Singaporeans. We waited and we prepared. They came but they failed to conquer, the infamous 'hello kitty queue' somehow went missing this year. Everyone was surprised, I was disappointed.
Rushed home after work to watch the national day parade on TV. Switched on the TV in time as the parade segment just started with the 'Guard of Honor' contingent marching in. Reminds me of the time when I was involved in NDP 98. Proud memories of mine.
Was late 10 mins for morning shift today. Bad start to the day and was busy today, as usual with Singaporeans arriving and departing. Will be on morning shift again for next 2 days, hoping for the best.

Back to reality

Let me start from a few days back.
3 Aug
Went jogging (Yes people, I am not kidding) with Fasle Jr at marina promenade and then to the gym. Thank goodness I'm still alive.
4-5 Aug
BBQ cum family gathering cum birthday celebration at Changi beach. Wonder how time flies when you are really happy. So much fun, pictures will be updated soon.

Back to work, back to reality. How I miss my days on leave.

A day at the park

My 100th post in this blog so far. Nothing to do so me and dearie headed to the park near my home earlier yesterday. She brought her digicam, I brought along one of my babies.
